Our paddleboarding impact in 2022 - making your soul happy

Updated: Oct 6

What is the paddleboarding impact of Paddle Cabin in Kent? "I feel so priviledged to have the Paddle Cabin on my doorstep, I am so glad I can paddleboard all year round with you in Kent" says one of our lovely members as our paddles get more crisp, fresh and we have the water to ourselves. We can’t quite believe that we are nearly finishing our second season of the Paddle Cabin, and we have an incredible group of paddle boarders in Kent who want to live their paddle life all year round with us. It makes us so proud to see our awesome tribe living our values - being welcoming, being curious, paddling responsibly, and always learning as they lap up the magical benefits of paddle boarding! After opening our cabin door in May 2021, we had a whirlwind of a first year, and then entered our second season in 2022. It’s been full of some incredible highlights, some challenges and lots of learnings. This year, we have…

  • Taught 1,400 people new SUP skills through our paddleboarding lessons

  • Welcomed 420 members (new and renewing) members to the cabin

  • Delivered 3000 bookings worth of happy paddlers

  • Taken our members to paddle in 23 different locations in the UK

  • Created unforgettablemulti day adventures for 50 of our members

  • Introduced 130 paddlers to the blue therapy benefits of our wellbeing programme

  • Come third in the SUP Polo World Series in the UK after only a few months playing

  • Run our ‘Intro to’ series, introducing our members to coastal paddling, SUP surfing, racing and white water in a safe environment

  • Grown our Paddle UKtraining courses offering so we can meet your learning needs

  • Engaged eighty of our members off the water in our paddleboarding adventure night to inspire their own adventures

  • Received 185 five star reviews on Google from happy customers

Looking back on the year, we think of summer hazy evenings on the water, with our paddlers - playing games, having a cook up by the river, dancing on our boards, eating pizza on the water, wearing incredible fancy dress, and laughing a lot as we try playing SUP Polo. We think back to our adventure weekends to Snowdonia (those incredible views!), paddling through rapids on the Wye carrying all our camping kit on our boards (so proud) and falling off a lot as we try and learn how to SUP Surf in Devon. We loved following our paddlers' journeys from the moment they step on the board for the first time, when they come back from a lesson, or return in a sense of calm after SUP Yoga or during SUP Club. We love to see our community become more confident on the water, more efficient, more knowledgeable always with a smile on their faces! We wanted to know more about our paddleboarding impact so we asked our community how they feel when they are with us.

Paddle boarding makes me feel happy
Paddle boarding makes me feel relaxed

This makes us burst with happiness too - thank you for telling us how you feel. This season and these incredible memories and highlights wouldn’t be possible without our amazing crew.

Big thank you goes to...

Big shout out to Tracey, Rob, Annabelle, Claire, Ian, Helen and India for your passion, hard work and happiness this summer. And to all our SUP Club helpers (Sarah-Joy, Jon, Ian, Robyn and CJ)  who volunteer their time on the water to make our SUP Socials the best night of the week for paddle boarding in Kent (“the weekend starts at SUP Club” according to Sarah). And thank you to you, our wonderful members, customers or fans who have visited the cabin in 2022, shared a post or told someone about us - as a small business, we really appreciate your support. Here's to 2023 - and happy paddling!
